Safety measures

The port complies with the security regulations set forth in the IMO (International Maritime Organization) ISPS Code, which took effect on July 1, 2004.

As a rule, arrival at the port does not require separate security arrangements for vessels holding a valid ISPS certificate. Vessels without an ISPS certificate that operate in international traffic and have a gross tonnage over 500 are obliged, together with the port authority, to prepare a Declaration of Safety (DoS).

A DoS is also required if the security levels of the vessel and the terminal differ. More information on the ISPS security regulations can be found here.
